Anche Paleobeppe vicino ai ghiacciai in Val di Rhemes!

E’ una lista infinita quella di studenti e studentesse che mi hanno dato grandissime soddisfazioni durante la mia vita universitaria da non studente…
Uno di questi è certamente Paleobeppe (Giuseppe Marramà) che in questi giorni ha pubblicato delle sue foto e mi ha permesso di utilizzarle per spiegare cos’è l’esarazione glaciale.

Il ghiacciaio, abbiamo già detto nei precedenti post e video (glaciologia su scienzafacile.it), è dinamico e si muove come un fiume al rallentatore realizzando una moltitudine di morfologie.

Il ghiacciaio, durante il suo movimento, trasporta detriti, ciotoli, enormi massi, sabbia, ghiaia e limo. Li trasporta anche sul fondo e con essi segna il suo percorso. Sasso su sasso compressi dal peso del ghiaccio, possono restare impressi nelle rocce alla base del flusso questi segni che vediamo in fotografia.

Paleobeppe, avvezzo ai fossili (con questo nome poi…!!!) è però anche un Geologo e questi segni non gli sono sfuggiti! Sono stati ripresi in alta Val di Rhemes e la cosa ha potuto solo farmi enorme piacere.

Sapete già che è un luogo che amo! Sono passato tante volte dove il ghiacciaio ha lasciato i suoi segni ma non avevo mai la macchina fotografica.

Oggi Paleobeppe ci fa questo regalo!

Paleobeppe si è messo anche ad imitare l’antico ghiacciaio nel suo lento e inesorabile movimento verso valle e mi ha ricordato che si può fare  scienza anche divertendosi e scherzando un po’!!! Grazie Giuseppe!

Oggi il ritiro dei ghiacciai ci permette di vedere in diretta ma più che altro in anteprima le dinamiche in corso e di comprendere ancor meglio quel che è successo in passato quando enormi calotte glaciali si svilupparono sulle Alpi in Nord Europa, Nord e Sud America…

Siamo fortunati?

Io la gradirei una nuova Piccola Età glaciale! Solo una piccola glaciazione…

Si tratterebbe solo di avere due o tre gradi in meno di media, un po’ più di neve in inverno ed estati relativamente fresche…
