Museo di Arsago Seprio (VA) – La nuova sala paleontologica

E’ davvero una soddisfazione per me, vedere i lavori che vanno a buon fine.

Un paio di anni fa, tramite il mio prof. di Paleontologia dei Vertebrati, venni contattato dalla Sopraintendenza ai beni Archeologici e tra qualche peripezia, feci un inventario di fossili al Museo di Arsago Seprio.

Lo scopo dell’inventario era regolarizzare la collezione presente in museo, donata dal Dott.Politi, in modo da poter ufficializzare e realizzare un’esposizione di carattere scientifico, divulgativo e didattico presso lo splendido e già presente Civico Museo Archeologico di Arsago.

La collezione inventariata, si componeva principalmente di una fauna a pesci e rettili italiani. Erano presenti anche alcuni resti di invertebrati e di vegetali…

Molti fossili (soprattutto pesci) provenivano da Bolca, famosa località fossilifera che si trova a nord di Verona e i Rettili erano del Monte San Giorgio che ben conoscete se frequentate scienzafacile.it.

Tutti i fossili erano esteticamente notevoli ed alcuni anche in ottimo stato di conservazione. Alcuni di questi erano rari, nonché scientificamente importanti.

Il lavoro di inventario, per quanto semplice, fu minimamente problematico per vari motivi, logistici e di rapporti con la Sopraintendenza…

Comunque sia, riuscii a finire il lavoro in un tempo relativamente breve grazie alle istituzioni di Arsago, primo tra tutti l’assessore alla Cultura Martino Rosso che mi venne incontro aprendomi il Museo anche quando la gente dovrebbe far vacanza e che mi permise di lavorare senza dover guardare troppo l’orologio!

Durante il mio lavoro, la dottoressa Alpago Novello, colonna del Museo di Arsago, mi portò a vedere una nuova sala adiacente al museo. La saletta era in restauro ma mi fu anticipato che avrebbe accolto la nuova collezione paleontologica Politi.

Mantennero la promessa e qualche giorno fa ho assistito all’inaugurazione della nuova sala visitando il museo in prima persona.

Ho espresso il mio piacere per il risultato a Martino Rosso e al dott. Fabio Bona che si è occupato della parte scientifica, dell’esposizione e dei pannelli didattici molto esaurienti, utili sia per il turista sia alle visite da parte delle scolaresche. Fabio, se non lo conoscete già è un amico, un collega, nonchè responsabile degli studi, e degli scavi alla Caverna Generosa del Monte Generoso in Val d’Intelvi .

Il risultato ve lo lascio tutto da scoprire. Vale certo la pena fare un giro da quelle parti.

Io sono rimasto affascinato non solo dalla nuova sala Paleontologica ma anche e soprattutto dai reperti archeologici relativi alle antiche popolazioni che abitarono la zona a partire da almeno 3000 anni a.C. fino a poche centinaia di anni fa e dalla storia che se ne percepisce…

Allora, passate ad Arsago per una visita.

Mene rhombea …il restauro di un fossile!
